This post reminded me of a David Rockefeller quote. Rockefeller had deep CIA ties, of course: https://thegrayzone.com/2017/03/21/david-rockefeller-us-foreign-policy-cia-kissinger/

Here's the quote: "We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years......It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries."

In the quote we see all the traits you mentioned -- Rockefeller as the hero of his own narrative, a glib arrogance and aggression, a hatred of national populism, the necessity of quiet conspiracy so the masses wouldn't wake up...whatever perspective is necessary so he and his friends stay in power and everyone else stays out of it...

That is some much appreciated validation of the heuristic! I suppose at the time being so certain that supernational sovereignty or an intellectual elite is superior might not have been so obviously wrong. It is certainly anti-American though, and I heap curses upon every so-called American who helped make our current situation a reality. That most of them will never have to choke down the rotten fruits of their perverse ideology is one of life's great tragedies.

Also, there is something about what we think of as an "evil" personality -- they tend to deny their own darkness. In Jungian terms humans becomes more whole and complete when we acknowledge our unconscious/subconscious desire and beliefs which regularly are dark and disturbing -- by bring the darkness into the light, by acknowledging and incorporating it, we ascend to another level of personal and spiritual development.

By denying their own darkness, though, these "evil" types tend to subconsciously project their own traits onto their hapless enemies. As Scott M. Peck states in People of the Lie, p.73-75, "A predominant characteristic, however, of the behavior of those I call evil is scapegoating. Because in their hearts they consider themselves above reproach, they must lash out at anyone who does reproach them. They sacrifice others to preserve their self-image of perfection....Scapegoating works through a mechanism psychiatrists call projection. Since the evil, deep down, feel themselves to be faultless, it is inevitable that when they are in conflict with the world they will invariably perceive the conflict as the world's fault. Since they must deny their own badness, they must perceive others as bad….In The Road Less Traveled I defined evil "as the exercise of political power - that is, the imposition of one's will upon others by overt or covert coercion - in order to avoid...spiritual growth". In other words, the evil attack others instead of facing their own failures. Spiritual growth requires the acknowledgment of one's need to grow. If we cannot make that acknowledgment, we have no option except to attempt to eradicate the evidence of our own imperfection....Utterly dedicated to preserving their self-image of perfection, they are unceasingly engaged in the effort to maintain the appearance of moral purity. They worry about this a great deal. They are acutely sensitive to social norms and what others might think of them....the words "image," "appearance," and "outwardly" are crucial to understanding the morality of the evil. While they seem to lack any motivation to be good, they intensely desire to appear good. Their "goodness" is all on a level of pretense. It is, in effect, a lie. This is why they are the ‘people of the lie.’”

Also, p. 119: “Evil [is] defined as the use of power to destroy the spiritual growth of others for the purpose of defending and preserving the integrity of our own sick selves. In short, it is scapegoating. [The evil] scapegoat not the strong but the weak. For the evil to misuse their power, they must have the power to use it in the first place. They must have some kind of dominion over their victims.”

What a phenomenally insightful comment. Thanks brother. I should really read that book it seems. This is my experience. If you're unwilling to consider your behaviors, feelings, and preferences with a cynical lens, you rob yourself of the opportunity for spiritual growth.

I am not American but I'm reminded of so called socialist "futurism" - that we must endure hardship and censorship today so our future children can live in a stable, equal world. But it's a clever and insidious piece of sophistry; tomorrow never comes, and WE are the children whom our parents were trying to secure the best future for. We must not allow those in power and influence dictate our current actions to bring about their future

Amen! Of course its also just hardship and censorship for us, not our betters who are nobly guiding us towards this ostensible utopia. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!

This is why until the blighted 20th century Intelligence was always a military function, counterintelligence a police function because then these characters were under positive legal and Constitutional control.

By Charter the CIA of course is an Independent agency, answering really to neither President nor Congress. The IC are the Ivy League Gentlemen’s clubs that took over the West.

That the IC become a private sector intelligence agency for Blackrock and Halliburton should surprise none.

Not even the East India Company at its height had this much power over London, we Americans are more in the position of Delhi and Bengal.

That is a very informative way to differentiate and ensure accountability. Now there doesn't even seem to be a definitive line between intel and counter-intel at all, which I'm sure is just another feature of creating systems where accountability is impossible.

The Heart Of Darknes.** Khan Younis. 2024.

We stumbled into this fabulous incisive excellent article.Thank you magisterial trenchant and stentorian Mr Smith. Extrapolating the diverse psychosis of .."the ends justify the means" we noted something very odd..unsettling... in the face of "that woman"..a souless snarky officious solipsism..in short, a mindset to self enrich beyond ideological pretexts.could it be avaricious cupidity and 30 pieces of silver again?.....the ...*eyes without a face*demonism that refuses to disappear and die in hell for a few more millenia,. All these *females* like Nina J...Mandy C..Chelsea c....javanka .Ursula vdr.leyen..mutti Merkel... Mrs.satanyahoo..Pelosi..baerbock..wallensky...............zelensky s "wife"... all exude something horrifying and arbitrary such as we intuited when looking at the whitewashed amoral Barbie doll sort of pseudo intelligent pretentious face...isn't it high time to tar feather and hang satanic malefactor traitors?...just a thought....**Great article.**

You make them sound rather weak and pathetic, without the power of the State. Which implies the only way to disempower them is to disempower the State.

Methinks Grant doesn't actually know any real spies, lol. Why not go interview say Sam Faddis, his And Magazine is here on Substack. He was a spy for 30 years...You'll find he's nothing like this article describes. Also, why not avail yourself of the work of MIke Benz? His take on all this is 100x times more credible than, and he can explain why and what is happening. Hint: After 2014, the West turned it's NatSec missions towards internal forces in a coordinated way, using their 'information tools' against their own citizens in ways never before contemplated. It all overlaps with Grant's take but it much narrower and far more precise.

But I guess conspiracy theorists are gonna theorize. And far as it goes, this isn't a bad one...

I've got to admit I'm pretty perplexed here. Mike Benz directly inspired this article, which is one of the reasons I included his tweet. My take isn't meant to explain anything in depth, it is meant to provide a heuristic to facilitate understanding what kind of people rule over us from their positions within the security state. For a more in depth treatment it looks like People of the Lie is spot on (h/t to Neoliberal Feudalism for his comments which you should check out). I don't claim to have any special knowledge, and don't invoke any to make my point. I make inferences based on my own experience, values, and perspective. This take obviously doesn't apply to Sam Faddis as he would be the first to recognize this pattern in many, if not most of his (former) colleagues - or so I would think. I haven't read much of his stuff, although I did encounter him once while conducting an interview with Frank Gaffney https://www.securingamerica.tv/with-sam-faddis-and-grant-smith-2/ NEOTR brother, keep the criticism constructive FFS.

I don't know much about you but this article, on its face, goes much further than Mike Benz has ever gone. You are essentially claiming the IDW is an IC operation. Never once heard Benz say anything like that - inferential or not. Fyi, I could be wrong, but I'm all over everything Benz says and writes. You make some very broad characterizations of 'spooks' as well, and you should be more careful in the words you use if you don't actually mean what you say about them. Fyi, I agree the IDW is nothing of the sort, but the web is littered with false heterodox types like Bari Weiss or others you ID. Harris's problem is that he's largely ignorant of history, political philosophy and economics, yet discusses all at length, lol. The very idea that he could share a stage with say Chris Hitchens or Daniel Dennett (neither of whom i'm 100% aligned with) is laughable. He's a neuroscientist who got out of his lane and bootstrapped his way to philosophizing. Accordingly, his ideas are nonsense. Lumping him and Ayan Hirsi Ali in with them is a huge mistake. Ali is always half baked, cuz she's deeply suspicious of the Right, no matter what she says. And while her story is nice, she's no towering intellect either.

Last. I'm an effing counter-revolutionary, ready to rock and roll, ya? I have no reluctance in seeing and taking on the elites who are destroying the West. I just see so much hyperbole and overstating of the case that it makes me very nervous at times. Hence my comments here, which I hope you see were careful and not hyperbolic.
